Nordost Leif 3 Cable Range Released

After its unveiling at High End Munich, Nordost has announced the availability of its new Leif 3 range of hi-fi cables.
Nordost states that the Leif 3 series represents the latest evolution of its entry-level cables, "which have set benchmarks in the hi-fi industry for over three decades".

The American company adds that this new range results from "years of technological breakthroughs and advancements in craftsmanship" alongside utilising optimal materials, unique geometry, and filterless technology resulting in "dynamic, low-loss, and lifelike performances from any audio system".

The Leif 3 line includes four ranges: White Lightning, Purple Flare, Blue Heaven, and Red Dawn. Each offers power cords, interconnects, and loudspeaker cables.
Each range within the Leif 3 series is said to benefit from heavier gauge sizes and updated connectors. The Leif 3 Interconnects boast a complete redesign, starting with their silver-plated, solid-core OFC conductors arranged in twisted pairs to reduce noise interference. Each pair is individually shielded before being bundled and secured in a second braided shield, providing 95% coverage.

We are told that the Leif 3 Interconnects have been further upgraded with Profi Neutrik gold-plated RCAs, ensuring the same great RCA and XLR termination is available throughout both the Leif and Norse families, from White Lightning to Tyr 2. Nordost says we can expect enhanced "textural aspects of music reproduction, intensified by their quiet background".
Meanwhile, the Leif 3 Loudspeaker Cables maintain the radically thin, durable, flat cable design of their celebrated predecessors. However, they now feature extra conductors and heavier gauge sizes, which, according to the brand, improve the drive and dynamic realism of the music they produce.

Finally, Leif 3 Power Cords benefit from Nordost's trickle-down technology, utilising FEP extrusion and Nordost's proprietary Micro Mono-Filament technology to deliver the brand's signature sound.

Renaissance Managing Director John Carroll told StereoNET:
The new Leif 3 range delivers a performance improvement that is literally another level: the new Blue Heaven series is now as good as the old Red Dawn series. Whether you are a long-term audiophile with an elite system or taking the very first steps in making entry-level upgrades to your setup, there is a Leif 3 cable for you.
Available as of this summer, the Leif 3 range manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP) is as follows: Power cords start at £250, Interconnects at £320, and Speaker Cables at £450.
