Metronome Le Player 3 CD Transport Announced

Metronome Technologie Announces Le Player 3 CD Transport
France's Métronome Technologie has announced the third generation of its remarkable Le Player CD transport which first appeared in 2015.

The Montans-based company tells us that Le Player 3 (£4,698) has been very much designed to meet the requirements of today's audiophiles; those who may have been tempted over to high-resolution streaming, but still need to be able to play their CDs.
The high-end French hi-fi brand says that most people want to use their own DAC, so this high-end CD Transport gives them the option to listen to CDs, without having to go through the D/A converter of an integrated CD player.

Le Player 3 offers optional up-sampling enabling you to change the frequency rate from the standard 44.1 kHz of CDs up to DSD 128. Additionally, for frequencies over 192 kHz, the signal can be transmitted through the I²S HDMI digital output. The outputs are 1 x S/PDIF RCA, 1 x AES/EBU XLR, 1 x Optical Toslink, and 1 x HDMI (I²S).

The Métronome Le Player 3's power comes by way of three toroidal transformers with independent regulation lines.
Jean Marie Clauzel, Owner and Designer of Métronome Technologie, told StereoNET:
Our Classica entry range was missing pure Transport, which was widely requested by our customers. So my design goal was to give much more added value than a simple digital output on an existing device. Le Player 3 electronics are thus completely new and have been specifically designed for a CD Transport.
