Melco has added a Qobuz Downloader to its current EX Series (and EX-updated) music libraries through the latest firmware update bringing components up to version 4.20.

The new firmware will be pre-installed on all new Melco digital music libraries as well as being available immediately for owners of existing EX Series machines. Also, this includes libraries that have been updated to EX specification, unlocking their full potential.
The addition of the Qobuz Downloader to Melco's EX music libraries not only gives you access to thousands of tracks in high-res and CD quality but enables you to download tracks and albums directly to your Melco music. That way, your favourite music is readily available for playback.

Additionally, the new firmware brings several other improvements, including enhanced media server stability, additional markerless DSD compatibility with a range of USB DACs and updates for Melco music libraries already featuring firmware version 4.10.

Melco Audio's UK General Manager Dan Raggett told StereoNET:
Qobuz is a well-known and highly regarded resource, offering both access to streaming and download content. The Qobuz Download library gives Melco customers access to thousands of artists, albums and hours of high-quality music. Coupling this with the ability to download and directly store on Melco libraries creates a fantastic proposition for music lovers.
The Melco EX firmware version 4.20 is a free over-the-air update and is available now.
