The LG Signature OLED T has gone on sale in the USA, making it the first transparent OLED TV to become available. It is being rolled out to global markets.

Following the company's previous innovative televisions, such as the LG Signature OLED R with a screen that rolls away and the LG OLED evo M with the first and only 4K 144Hz wireless video and audio, the transparent television was announced at CES 2024. LG is now confirming release and pricing details. It is likely no surprise that the new model is not cheap.

"Practically invisible" when switched off, the 77-inch LG Signature OLED T not only allows you to switch between transparent and opaque modes, but it also comes with wireless video and audio transmission tech via the Zero Connect Box to eliminate all those pesky cables that could ruin the whole transparent aesthetic.

Select Transparent Mode, and the OLED produces the intriguing effect of merging the surrounding space with the on-screen images, creating a seemingly edgeless viewing experience.

Meanwhile, T-Objet is an Always-On-Display mode that turns the screen into a "transparent digital canvas," producing interesting results with art screen savers and video or photo galleries.

The LG Signature OLED T TV is now available at US$60,000 (~GBP£47,500 before tax).
