Building on 2025 models such as the Stage 301 and the original Bounce and Grab, the refreshed range spans use cases from home entertaining to outdoor and adventure-focused listening, with four new speakers scheduled to roll out globally during 2026.

Central to the update is deeper integration of LG’s FYI.RAiDiO platform, developed in collaboration with will.i.am. The system introduces conversational interaction with a selection of AI “personas” and DJs, delivering context-aware music curation via the FYI.RAiDiO app or a dedicated hardware button. LG positions this as a move beyond static playlists toward more adaptive, mood- and location-responsive listening, though its real-world value will depend on how intuitively those AI features operate in everyday use.
Automated sound processing features are applied across the lineup. AI Sound analyses audio content and adjusts EQ to prioritise elements such as vocals or rhythm, while AI Lighting synchronises multicoloured light bars with playback. Space Calibration Pro is intended to adapt output to the surrounding environment, aiming for more consistent sound indoors and outdoors.

The most powerful model in the range is the xboom Stage 501, which builds on the wedge-style design introduced with the Stage 301. It delivers up to 220 watts when connected to mains power, or 160 watts on battery, and uses a swappable 99Wh battery rated for up to 25 hours of playback. A five-sided cabinet supports multiple placement options, including tripod mounting. Karaoke functionality is a key feature, with AI Karaoke Master using deep-learning models trained on more than 10,000 songs to reduce or remove vocals and adjust pitch without dedicated backing tracks.

For outdoor use, the xboom Blast is positioned as the endurance-focused option. LG claims up to 35 hours of playback from its 99Wh battery, alongside up to 220 watts of output and three passive radiators. The speaker has undergone what LG describes as 'military-standard' durability testing, with design features such as edge bumpers and a side rope handle aimed at portability in crowded or outdoor environments.

The xboom Mini targets more casual, everyday listening. It offers up to 10 hours of playback, an IP67 rating for water and dust resistance, and a compact cube-style design with a Magic Strap for flexible placement. LG says Sound Field Enhance helps maintain clarity in open spaces, while a built-in tripod mount and tactile controls improve ease of use.

Rounding out the range, the xboom Rock updates LG’s earlier XG2 portable speaker with improved durability and modestly increased output, now rated at 6 watts. It meets seven military durability standards, supports up to 10 hours of playback, and adds LE Audio Auracast for sharing audio across compatible speakers.

Commenting on the collaboration, will.i.am framed the lineup as an effort to strengthen the connection between listeners and music through AI-driven interaction. LG, meanwhile, continues to position portable audio as a growth category heading into 2026, combining design-led products with increasingly automated features.

The new xboom by will.i.am speakers will be on display at CES 2026 in Las Vegas from January 6–9. Pricing and regional availability have yet to be confirmed.
