KEF's new Ci-R series speakers promise improved performance thanks to incorporating technologies developed for the top-of-the-line series, The Reference.

KEF Ci-R THX Speakers

Using 12th-generation Uni-Q drivers with KEF's signature Metamaterial Absorption Technology (MAT) that absorbs 99% of unwanted noise and reduces distortion, both the Ci5160RLM-THX and Ci3160RLM-THX are also THX Certified Ultra speakers, meaning they have undergone tests in frequency response, output levels, signal-to-noise ratio and distortion to ensure they recreate sound precisely as it was intended.

Both speakers are also incredibly subtle, designed to perform optimally while blending into any home setting thanks to a 5.5mm thick anodised silver aluminium baffle with colour-matched Uni-Q and bass drivers.

There's also an accompanying magnetic metal grille that can be painted to match home interiors, and a black cloth grille is also available as a separate purchase.

Both speakers also get some trickle-down technology from The Reference, with the Ci5160RLM-THX coming equipped with four 6.5-inch hybrid aluminium bass drivers, while the Ci3160RLM-THX comes with two of the same hybrid aluminium bass drivers, all in addition to the Uni-Q MAT driver.

As for pricing, the Ci5160RLM-THX starts at £2,600 per piece, while the Ci3160RLM-THX retails for £1,700 per piece. Both speakers are available now.
