Integra's DRX-8.4 flagship audio video receiver (AVR) promises maximum flexibility for integrators; meanwhile, your home cinema experience benefits from the all-new Integra 11-channel, 150-watt-per-channel (8 ohms, 20 Hz–20 kHz, 0.08% THD, 2-ch driven, FTC) symmetric class AB amplifier that is capable of powering up to a 7.2.4 speaker configuration.
Audio connectivity includes 11.4 channel RCA pre-outs alongside XLR pre-outs for L/C/R/SW1/SW2 and stereo XLR input. Finally, two independent subwoofer channels plus two parallel outputs are also available for connectivity convenience.
Furthermore, seven HDMI 2.1 inputs and three outputs (including HDMI eArc) helps the DRX-8.4 support 4K/120Hz gaming thanks to its full HDMI bandwidth allowing for faster refreshes and minimal latency, alongside 8K passthrough.

The DRX-8.4 comes with wireless Dirac Live room calibration Full Version – and an optional upgrade for Dirac Live Bass Control Multi Subwoofer – which uses machine learning and AI to quickly determine ideal settings for any layout. In addition, the Integra DRX-8.4 AVR includes advanced music streaming and connectivity and built-in smart home assistants such as Josh, Alexa, and Google. Rounding things off is Roon Ready certification which puts Qobuz, TIDAL and your networked digital library all in one easy-to-navigate place.
Your digital audio comes via "studio-grade processing", including what Integra claims is the industry's highest-performance 32-bit audio DAC - a pair of ESS ES9026PRO Hyperstreams. The company states this provides "unprecedented" dynamic range with ultra-low distortion.
Integra tells us that extruded anti-resonant aluminium heat sinks and high-grade capacitors balance consumption and output requirements for optimal amplifier performance. At the same time, IP control, web setup from your preferred browser, and onboard HDMI diagnostics vow to make installing and managing the Integra DRX-8.4 AVR a breeze.
The Integra DRX-8.4 will be available in Q3 2023, with Euro and GBP pricing currently still to be confirmed.
