HI-FI RACKS ANNOUNCES NEW OMNIUM8 RACK

There's hardly a friendlier family-owned and run businesses and brand in this industry than Hi-Fi Racks Limited, based in the heart of England.

Growing from humble operations, in just over a decade husband and wife team Bradley and Julie Walters have given their all to build the business into what it is today.

The range of bespoke beautifully crafted component racks and speaker stands is exported to most continents around the world and along the way, has picked up a swag of awards from leading publications including What Hi-Fi?, Hi-Fi Choice and Hi-Fi World.

At next week's High End Show in Munich, Germany, Hi-Fi Racks Ltd have proudly informed StereoNET they will be unveiling a brand new product range known as Omnium8.

Bradley Walters, explains:

its all in the name! “Omnium” is the Latin word for “all”, or “all-inclusive,” and that’s exactly what the new product range represents. After 11 years of listening to our customers, we wanted to develop a high-quality rack that would encompass all the options we have been asked for. We have designed 8 key features in the one rack design– which is where the “8” in the product’s name comes from.

The line includes 8 key features, which according to Walters can be mixed and matched to the customer’s preference:

  • Modular construction, with the ability to add or remove tiers as AV requirements change
  • Cable management system to keep wires safe and tidy
  • 32mm square legs
  • 46mm square legs
  • 32mm round legs
  • 46mm round legs
  • Tiers can be bolted together
  • Isolation by spikes on each individual tier

Manufactured from the finest solid oak, with each component of the new modular line is individually handcrafted in the company’s workshop.

The rack offers soft, rounded edges and hexagonal openings for the optional cable management system. Each tier is made of 27mm-thick wood, putting the new rack in between the company’s existing tiers of 22mm and 40mm thickness.

Omnium8 offers two standard tier sizes: 567mm wide by 460mm deep and 1000mm by 460mm. Being modular and universal, the Omnium8 can also be built to any size and any number of tiers.

The rack also offers a choice of colours and finishes, including Natural Satin, Mahogany, Cherry, Walnut, Black and White stains or a combination of them.

In the UK, pricing starts at £140.40 per tier and will be available following the High End show.

An announcement will be made shortly on a new distributor for New Zealand, along with local pricing and availability.

applause awards

Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.

Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.

The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.

We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
