Focal has announced the launch of a new Slatefiber in-car range comprising six models.

The French purveyor of luxury audio systems is bringing its Slatefiber cone, a design already used across Focal’s professional and audiophile-grade product line-up, to musical entertainment on the road.

The upgraded cones are crafted in the brand’s St Etienne workshops and made from non-woven recycled carbon fibres combined with a polymer. This, says the brand, delivers rigidity, lightness and damping for high-precision sound reproduction that won’t be impeded even by the wildest trails.

The Slatefiber line comprises a coaxial kit, two component 2-way kits, a 3-way component kit, a pair of full-range midrange drivers, and a subwoofer. With optimised sensitivity, the loudspeakers promise impressive dynamics with or without extra amplification, making upgrades accessible to a wide audience.

The inverted aluminium/magnesium dome tweeter — a hallmark of Focal technology — allows multiple mounting options and tuning to fit any vehicle interior.

The kits also include design elements such as the aluminium basket featuring a distinctive rotor shape that blends aesthetics with rigidity. The cone, marked by its slate-like appearance, adds a unique visual signature.

Moreover, the Slatefiber range has been engineered to simplify installation, including mounting accessories, separable crossovers, and more.

The Focal Slatefiber in-car range is available now.
