Focal's Clear Mg headphones, like the Clear Mg Professional announced last month, takes advantage of the St Étienne-based brand's newly designed 40mm Magnesium-alloy domed drivers.

The main difference between the new breed of Clear Mg headphones is the Chestnut and Mixed-Metals finish to the honeycomb pattern on the outside of the earpads compared with the black of the Professional model. This blends classic and modern styles and results in a much more luxurious look than the practically business-like Pro variant.

The Clear Mg headphone's solid aluminium yoke has been developed to perfectly mould to your head. Additionally, the headband is covered in leather and microfibre, which also offers a constant curve. Finally, the perforated microfibre earpads result in comfortable elongated listening.

Thanks to an impedance of 55 Ohms, these open-backed headphones will pair well with digital audio players and even smartphones. Along with boasting a frequency response of 5Hz–28kHz, we're promised that you should experience a remarkable sound performance with perfect dynamics, detail and balance.

This is also aided by the open grille inside the earcup, which we're told extends the high frequencies and follows the 'M' profile of the cone more closely to further reduce adverse effects.
Rounding things off is a colour-matched carrying case bundled with a 1.2m mini-jack-terminated cable with a 6.35mm jack adapter and a 3m cable terminated with a 4-pin XLR cable.

The Focal Clear MG will be available as of March 2021, priced at £1399/ €1500
