Falcon Acoustics Complete@Home DIY Speaker Range Launched

Falcon Acoustics IMF100 Launches New Complete@Home DIY Loudspeaker Range

StereoNET has already reviewed the Applause Award-winning Falcon IMF100 speaker kit and remarked:
The IMF100's performance is not something that you'd associate with its modest retail price. Indeed, it's fair to say that my breath was rather taken away – both at the overall package and also at how good these classic drive units could sound in a modern context.
The Falcon Acoustics IMF100 (£1495) is the first of a six model range of Complete@Home loudspeakers. The IMF100 kit offers the performance of a high-quality two-way for less than half the price.

Not only does this give you the satisfaction of a home build, but you also know that you're not dealing with some dodgy components that won't work well together - let's face it, you're buying a kit from the largest UK supplier of drive units. Furthermore, as you're putting it together yourself, you're saving money on labour costs.
Naturally, the kit includes Falcon drive units. These are bundled in with Italian birch ply cabinets and Falcon factory-assembled pre-wired crossovers. As Neville can attest, the IMF100 can be completed in as little as 30 minutes thanks to clear instructions, including a YouTube video, and no soldering being required.

The IMF100 is a two-way, 1/8th wave transmission line system, featuring matched pairs of Falcon B110 Bextrene Cone bass drivers and T27 Mylar dome tweeter units (as used by the Falcon LS3/5a). Additionally, you get precision CNC-engineered B110 retaining rings, precision-matched Falcon crossovers and full production-grade birch ply cabinets, made in Italy from natural walnut or rosewood veneers.

You can expect Falcon's legendary quality as the kits are created in the same factory as the renowned Falcon Acoustics BBC LS3/5a which the IMF100 also shares similar voicing with, but with extra bass extension. The quoted specs for the built 460 x 225 x 275mm (HxWxD) speakers include a frequency response of 38Hz-20kHz +/- 3dB with an 86dB/2.83V/m sensitivity and 8 ohm impedance.
The IMF100 system uses parts that are exclusively sourced and manufactured in the UK/EU, Falcon states that this ensures the best quality and consistency.
The Falcon IMF100 Complete@Home kit is available now for £1495. This comes with all the tools you will need to build yourself a fine pair of speakers. We're already looking forward to the next kit being announced!
