Could the Obi3 Kanto Be the Turntable You’re Looking For?

Kanto unveils its first turntable, the entry-level priced Obi3.
Canadian firm Kanto has launched its first-ever turntable, the Obi3, which will undoubtedly work well with the company's array of powered speakers, such as the REN, UKI and ORA.

The Obi3 is a belt-driven deck that sports minimalist aesthetics, which Kanto says offers "precise, vibration-free playback".

The new turntable comes equipped with a pre-installed and calibrated Audio-Technica AT3600L cartridge to its aluminium J-shaped tonearm, which Kanto tells us presents a "smooth, balanced sound that honours vinyl's analogue heritage while embracing the ease of modern listening."

By "modern listening," Kanto is most likely referring to the Obi3's Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity, which enables you to connect your Kanto vinyl spinner to wireless speakers or headphones.

Moreover, the Obi3 features an onboard phono stage as well as an RCA output, allowing you to integrate it into a more traditional hi-fi setup when you start to upgrade.

This affordable player can be quickly dialled in to play at 33⅓ or 45rpm, and boasts pitch control, not often seen at this price point. You also get a weighted aluminium platter and wooden plinth, providing a more "stable foundation" for a "more authentic analogue performance."

Measuring a reasonably compact 40x35.5x9.4cm, it should fit easily on a sideboard or table. Additionally, the Kanto Obi3 comes bundled with a dust cover, slip mat, and 45rpm adapter in the box.

Brett Smalley, Kanto's marketing director, told StereoNET:
Obi3 represents a new design language for Kanto, one that celebrates the tactile joy of analogue and the simplicity of our speaker range. Together, they make a great system.
Available in black, white, or green finishes, the Kanto Obi3 launches in November 2025, priced at £179 | $199.
