Bowers & Wilkins’ Zeppelin Pro Elevates The Wireless Speaker Icon

B&W's Zeppelin Pro Edition offers upgraded drivers, new finishes and improved hi-res audio support.
The Zeppelin by Bowers & Wilkins has to be one of the most recognisable wireless speakers around. Thanks to its sound quality and contemporary airship aesthetics, it has also gained many fans. B&W's Zeppelin received its latest refresh a few years ago and even got a racy glow-up last year. Today, we are introduced to the new Zeppelin Pro Edition.

The latest Bowers blimp is offered in two brand-new finishes - Solar Gold and Space Grey - alongside some "subtle but effective" design tweaks. However, the changes are more than skin-deep.

The Zeppelin Pro benefits from the British company's latest titanium-dome tweeters, which are also found in its 600 Series of loudspeakers. The tweeters are mounted at the far edges of the speaker's enclosure to ensure greater isolation from vibrations, which, says Bowers & Wilkins, results in a purer, cleaner sound.

The tweeters are partnered with a set of 9cm midrange drivers utilising the brand's Fixed Suspension Transducer (FST) tech, as used by some of Bowers' premium floorstanders. The midband speakers boast increased cone-damping, aiming to reduce the effects of cone break-up.

At the low end, the Zep Pro gets a 15cm subwoofer for "deep, detailed and refined bass." We're told that this has been "carefully optimised to avoid unwanted cabinet rocking" whilst promising "a cleaner-sounding and more agile bass delivery."

Finally, the Zeppelin Pro is blessed with multi-room functionality, enabling it to partner with other Pro Editions or become part of a multi-room system among speakers in the B&W Formation ecosystem. Furthermore, this upgraded model offers streaming support for services including Qobuz, Tidal, and Deezer in addition to AirPlay 2, Spotify Connect, and Bluetooth aptX Adaptive support.

The Bowers & Wilkins Zeppelin Pro Edition is available now in Space Grey or Solar Gold and costs £699.
