Announced today, the update brings two additional finishes to the Pi8 range – Dark Burgundy and Pale Mauve – while the Px7 S3 gains a new Vintage Maroon option.

While the hardware itself remains unchanged, the move reflects a growing trend among premium headphone brands to treat design and finish options as a key part of the product proposition rather than an afterthought.
For Bowers & Wilkins, that approach has increasingly become part of its brand identity, positioning its wireless headphones closer to luxury accessories than purely functional consumer electronics.

The new Pi8 finishes expand the existing colour lineup of Anthracite Black, Midnight Blue, Dove White and Jade Green, bringing the total number of available variants to six.
The Pi8 sits at the top of Bowers & Wilkins’ true wireless lineup and was originally introduced alongside the Pi6 as part of the company’s push deeper into the premium wireless earbud market. At launch, the brand positioned the model as a reference-grade wireless earbud designed to translate its traditional hi-fi voicing into a compact, everyday format.

Meanwhile, the Px7 S3, which StereoNET reviewed in June last year, receives the new Vintage Maroon finish, joining Canvas White, Anthracite Black, Indigo Blue and Frost Blue in the existing range.

The Px7 S3 represents the latest evolution of Bowers & Wilkins’ long-running Px series and builds on the design language established by earlier models while refining the acoustic platform and noise-cancelling performance.
In StereoNET’s review, the Px7 S3 was noted for combining a more balanced tonal presentation with the kind of build quality and industrial design that has become a defining part of Bowers & Wilkins’ headphone lineup.

Although the announcement focuses purely on new finishes rather than new hardware, it underlines the company’s continued emphasis on materials and visual identity as part of its premium positioning.

That strategy has increasingly blurred the line between audio equipment and lifestyle design, particularly in the wireless headphone category where aesthetics often carry as much weight with buyers as technical performance.

The new Px7 S3 Vintage Maroon is available from 19 March priced at A$699 | £399 | €429 | US$479, while the Pi8 earbuds in Pale Mauve and Dark Burgundy are priced at A$649 | £369 | €419 | US$499
