Bluesound Reveals Next-Gen POWERNODE Streaming Amp

Originally one of the first products to marry high-resolution multi-room streaming with advanced Class D amplification, the POWERNODE has become a defining part of Bluesound’s identity. The latest version builds on that foundation with a complete redesign inside and out. It delivers 100 watts per channel in stereo — or 80 watts x 3 in a 3.1 configuration — thanks to Bluesound’s updated DirectDigital amplifier stage and gallium nitride (GaN) transistor technology. The result? According to Bluesound, it has lower distortion and improved fidelity, and it is the sort of musical nuance enthusiasts will appreciate across music and movies.

Morten Nielsen, Associate Product Manager at Bluesound, told StereoNET:
“The POWERNODE has always stood at the intersection of performance and simplicity; this evolution expands its capabilities while staying true to our vision of delivering HiFi quality sound without compromise.”

Bluesound aims to deliver not just specs, but an experience that fits into real-world homes. The new POWERNODE is designed for users who want hi-fi-grade performance without the bulk, complexity, or tangle of traditional AV receivers and separates. With HDMI eARC onboard and support for centre-channel speaker integration, users can pair it with a TV and left/right speakers for a clean 3.1 setup. Add Bluesound PULSE wireless surrounds and the PULSE SUB+ subwoofer, transforming into a complete 5.1 surround system — no racks, remotes, or fuss.
Matt Simmonds, Bluesound’s Product Manager, added:
“With the new POWERNODE, we're not just delivering hi-res audio, we’re delivering a new way to experience music and home entertainment — one that’s powerful, flexible, and designed around how people actually live.”

Connectivity has been thoroughly modernised, with support for USB-C audio input, analogue and optical inputs, aptX Adaptive Bluetooth, and a 6.3mm headphone jack powered by a dedicated THX AAA headphone amp — a first in this category. It's also Dirac Live Ready, allowing for advanced room correction if users activate the feature.

The POWERNODE runs on Bluesound’s BluOS multi-room streaming platform, which supports over 20 streaming services, including TIDAL, Qobuz, Spotify, Amazon Music, and Deezer. It also handles high-resolution formats up to 24-bit/192kHz, MQA, and DSD256. BluOS allows for seamless multi-room playback and intuitive control via apps on iOS, Android, macOS, and Windows.

On the outside, the unit adopts a sleek industrial design with a matte black or white finish, compact footprint, and a full glass touch panel with five programmable quick-access presets. A built-in proximity sensor activates controls as you approach, offering hands-on interaction without needing to reach for a remote or smartphone.

The new Bluesound POWERNODE will be available to pre-order from August 12, 2025, and shipments will commence through authorised dealers on September 10, 2025 for the Northern Hemissphere. Australian availablity will commence from October, 2025.
Pricing is confirmed at US$1,199 | CA$1,399 | €1,099 | £899 | A$1,949.
