AVID HiFi Announces Reference Loudspeaker Range

You'd be forgiven for thinking of turntables when you hear the AVID HiFi name. That's what they've made a name for themselves with for just over 20 years now. After announcing an ultra-high-end amplifier last year, they're back this year with a Refer ...
No, company founder Conrad Mas wasn't content with just turntables. He wants to provide a complete analogue system for the now cult-like following of the brand worldwide.
While specific details of this new loudspeaker lineup proudly boasting the AVID HiFI name are still sparce, the range will officially launch at Munich's 2016 High End Show in May.
And high-end they are indeed, at least if the pricing is anything to go by. Two floor-standing models, and a stand-mount model make up the range.

The stand-mount Reference Three is expected to retail locally for around $71,000, followed by Reference Two, and finishing with the range-topping Reference One expected to be around $240,000.
With massive black aluminium enclosures and trademarks of AVID's traditional design, they certainly look impressive at first glance.
Conrad Mas, founder of AVID HiFi told StereoNET:
Performance is, as you would expect, “stunning”, with tremendous dynamic capabilities and a fantastically spacious, tactile sound stage.
AVID HiFi is distributed in Australia by National Audio Group.
