AudioQuest Brave Heart Enchanted by Mythical Creatures

California-based AudioQuest has unveiled Brave Heart, a new high-end speaker cable that draws heavily—both literally and figuratively—from the brand’s flagship Mythical Creatures.
Nestled above the retiring William Tell evectively making it a junior ThunderBird. Brave Heart aims to offer a taste of AudioQuest’s top-tier sorcery without the fully mythical price tag.

AudioQuest says Brave Heart is nearly as brawny as its Mythical Creatures stablemates—just 0.6mm slimmer around the waist—yet noticeably easier to handle thanks to separate round constructions for its positive and negative leads. Inside, it stuffs in almost a third more of the same ultra-pure PSC+ copper used in William Tell, giving what founder Bill Low fondly calls “more torque.” Translation? It should better preserve the damping factor over long runs, keeping bass nice and obedient even with speakers that like to wander low, while smoothing frequency response along the way.

Pull back the jacket, and Brave Heart reveals a trove of AudioQuest’s favourite tech tricks, including ZERO-Tech, which eliminates characteristic-impedance mismatches between your amp, cable, and speakers. The result, the company says, is power that “flows unencumbered,” letting music and movie soundtracks appear almost out of thin air—like a good magic trick should.
Noise gets the complete Brave Heart treatment too. Expect upgraded polypropylene insulation, multiple layers of carbon-loaded PVC, a dash of newly woven-in graphene, and a staggering twelve times more silver on the drain wires than previous efforts—all conspiring to banish RF nasties. It also carries AudioQuest’s 72v Dielectric-Bias System (DBS), direction-controlled conductors, and cold-welded, gas-tight connections with pure red copper spades or banana plugs. You might say it’s all there to ensure your system is charmed, not cursed.

For Australian customers, Advance Audio—AudioQuest’s local distributor—expects Brave Heart to arrive by late August. Darren Lawrence, Product Manager at Advance Audio Australia, told StereoNET the release brings AudioQuest’s latest tech together in standout form:
Brave Heart features the very best of AudioQuest’s latest technology. The result is a cable that’s bigger, quieter, more flexible, and delivers better performance than ever before.
Shipping from August, Brave Heart is offered as a full-range cable and priced as follows A$5,995 (8ft pair); A$8,995 (10ft pair) | US$4,990 (8ft pair); US$5,790 (10ft pair) | CA$6,790 (8ft pair); CA$7,890 (10ft pair) | €4,999 (2.5m pair); €5,649 (3m pair) | £4,249 (2.5m pair); £4,799 (3m pair).
A fair bit south of a full-blown Mythical Creature, but still bristling with much of its power. The Brave Heart can be customised to any length and offers a choice of banana or spade connectors on either end.
