The launch of the Atlas Element Mezzo XLR and Equator XLR-terminated cables expands the Scottish cable manufacturer's range of precision analogue interconnects.

The Element Mezzo XLR (from £146.25 for 0.5m) features balanced core technology and sports an oxygen-free copper (OFC) conductor working with gas loaded high density foamed polyethylene dielectric, says Atlas. The Element Mezzo is also said to boast a high efficiency braided screen and an all-new copper alloy XLR plug and pins.

The Kilmarnock cable cobbler's new Equator XLR (from £475 for 0.5m) is manufactured using Ohno Continuous cast (OCC) copper with a balanced core. We are told that the Equator is a step up from Element XLR in terms of performance. In the Equator XLR, the dielectric is also gas loaded high density foamed polyethylene. Altas states that there is minimal screen distortion for maximal RFI protection. The XLR plug is manufactured using OCC pins and Atlas cold weld technology.
Kevin Kelly, Managing Director of Atlas cables, told StereoNET:
Both these cables represent great value to the consumer in terms of performance and build. True balanced cables are often much higher in price, and we wanted to give our customers a greater range of options. It's great to be able to implement so much of our existing high-end technology into these new XLR interconnects.
