Arcam Radia+ Performance-Enhanced Integrated Amplifiers

Arcam's new A5+, A15+, and A25+ Radia Plus amplifiers boast upgraded circuitry and refined components, promising "enhanced performance."

We were there at the unveiling of Arcam's Radia line, which marked a bold vision for the British brand and drew on styling cues from gaming consoles, forward fashion, and interior design trends.

That was back in 2023, and as much as we were impressed by the A25, especially its "musically enjoyable character with plenty of power and grunt," Arcam has injected the "plus factor" into the series to create the Radia A5+, A15+, and A25+.

We are relieved to see the Arcam Plus range has retained its sleek, minimal black with yellow accent aesthetic, along with pretty much the headline specs for each model.

So, Arcam appears to be following the "if ain't broke, don't fix it" mantra, so what does the new Plus components bring to the table? For starters, the A15+ and A25+ are endowed with an HDMI eARC input, bringing them into play with your big-screen telly and home cinema set-up.

The A25+ also gets upgraded to a new transformer, better linear regulation to the analogue power supplies, and further refinements to the power and mains filtering, which all help "enhance overall clarity", according to Arcam.

The A25+ Class G amplifier (100W per channel) now benefits from an additional, dedicated ESS9018 DAC for the SPDIF inputs and sports a "precision-cut glass front panel" that promises a sharper, brighter OLED display. The latter should look a closer match for the A25+'s ST25 streaming sibling.

The A5+ is equipped with enhancements to its internal components, which minimise PCB interference and lower power supply impedance. Additionally, both the A15+ and A25+ have a transformer upgrade that reduces unwanted current within the chassis.

Across the new range, Arcam states that "noise reduction remains a key engineering focus." It adds that "by selectively powering down idle components, the overall noise floor is significantly decreased."

The A5+ remains a 50W per channel amplifier, while the A15+ gets a power boost, resulting in 80W per channel – both are Class A/B designs, featuring a 24-bit/192kHz ESS ES9018 DAC, a built-in moving magnet phono stage, and a 3.5mm headphone port.

Meanwhile, all three amps have received a Bluetooth chip upgrade, bringing with it Bluetooth 5.4 and the higher-quality aptX Lossless codec, as well as LE Audio and the Auracast sharing protocol.

Available later in September 2025, the new Arcam A5+ costs £749, while the Arcam A15+ is priced at £1,199. The flagship A25+ will sell at £1,699.

Prices in other territories are yet to be confirmed.
