A Heady Brew

Streaming specialist CocktailAudio has a new Australian and New Zealand distributor. Veteran Hi-Fi supplier Interdyn, whose stable includes Rotel, Cabasse and Polk Audio, can now add CocktailAudio to its long list of quality brands.

Led by industry pioneer Alex Encel, Interdyn was one of the first suppliers to read the changing AV market and the importance of the internet.
The company still does almost all of its business through bricks and mortar AV specialists as well as counting mass mass market brands like JB HiFi and Harvey Normal among its customers. It represents some big brands in the vinyl, speaker and Hi-Fi categories, but it recognised a gap in their digital brands portfolio.
CocktailAudio will strengthen the company’s business model with the brand’s appeal to a younger generation of AV buyers. CocktailAudio says its systems have a world’s first winning combination of features. These are a music database function, CD ripping, music server, network streaming and a 192Khz sample rate at affordable prices.
Sam Encel, a former business consultant at PricewaterhouseCoopers (and Mr Encel’s son) has now joined the business. He understands the need to support products and brands that reflect the new streaming environment.
“CocktailAudio’s two key products are a great solution for customers with existing CD and digital music collections who seek to simplify their listening experience,” he told StereoNET.
“CocktailAudio currently make two models, the X10 (pictured) and X30, that are designed to meet the requirements of the mass market at both an entry level, and the enthusiast at the high end.”
“We’re very pleased to have CocktailAudio as part of Interdyn’s growing range of industry-leading audiovisual products as we know the market is demanding more of this kind of product, both in terms of quality sound reproduction and price point.”
All trade enquires should be directed to Interdyn’s Commercial Manager, Sam Encel, via email, or phone (03) 9426 3600.
