Well known and regarded Meridian 565 preamp/processor available. Great addition to any surround sound system. Accepts one analogue input for internal ADA conversions/upscaling or not (HS = Y or N). Can be used as stereo DAC too. Can convert stereo input to 3 or 5 channel output (with or without sub by setting Type). Can also be used as source for speakers that accept digital input (by changing Type to Digital instead of Analogue output). Pairs with other Meridian 500 series units via C5 comms cable(s).
Cosmetically very good. Missing one of the four original small rubber feet but this is easily replaceable.
Does not come with remote but these are readily available on eBay (smaller or full MSR types available).
Shipping available AUS-wide available via courier at buyer’s expense (approx $40-60 depending on location).
Open to reasonable offers.

### Price Range Breakdown
- Low end (AUD ~900–1,200): Reflects units in good-to-fair condition, often without original remote or with minor cosmetic issues (e.g., sticky feet), as seen in European listings like €135 (~AUD 220, potentially a bargain or project unit) and €300–599 (~AUD 500–1,000).
- Mid-to-high end (AUD ~1,200–1,600): For excellent working/cosmetic condition with upgrades like Z3 DTS 7.1, matching bundles (e.g., CA$750/~AUD 800 paired with 562V), or US listings at $550–700 (~AUD 850–1,100).
- No new units appear in recent data, as this model is discontinued; all prices are for used items, with values 60–80% below original ~USD 4,000 retail.
### Key Factors Affecting Value
- Condition: Excellent cosmetic/working order commands 50–100% premiums over fair/untested units; issues like missing remotes (common, but Logitech Harmony alternatives available) reduce price by 20–30%.
- Upgrades/Features: Z3 7.1/DTS updates or bundle sales (e.g., with 562V preamp) boost value by 20–50%.
- Location/Market: Lower in Europe (e.g., €135–599); higher in North America/Australia due to demand for Meridian hi-fi enthusiasts; AUD estimates factor ~1.5x USD/1.6x EUR multipliers.
- Age of Listing: Recent (2025) sales skew lower (e.g., €375 for similar 562V2); older (2023–2024) hold steadier at $550+ equivalents.
- Limited Australian-specific data (e.g., 2021 StereoNet negotiable listing in Sydney), so global averages adjusted conservatively for local shipping/import.
Prices fluctuate with demand for vintage Meridian DSP gear; monitor sites like HifiShark for real-time AUD listings.
