Reason for Selling

Not required anymore

This amp was purchased by me in January 2024 brand new from Addicted To Audio. It was used from time to time powering some of my book shelf speakers. My main speakers are full range drivers in horn cabinets powered by valve amps all built by myself. Despite being an excellent amp, the Nait 5si has been used very rarely.

If you are not familiar with Naim brand and Nait 5si please read many reviews available on internet.

This amp has 60 W of Naim power per channel. This is enough to drive almost any speakers to reasonable level.

Potential buyers welcome to audition at my home.

The amplifier will be delivered in original box including remote, power cable and reference manual.

It can be picked up locally or shipped at buyer’s expense. Priced to sell quickly.

The Naim Audio Nait 5si is widely praised in user reviews and discussions as an engaging, high-performance 60W integrated amplifier with a strong reputation for musicality and value, often earning top ratings like five stars despite its age and analog-only design.

### Sound Quality
Users and reviewers consistently highlight its clarity, dynamic grip, rhythmic drive, and excitement, making it excel with complex rhythms, demanding dynamics, and genres from vinyl reggae to orchestral works. It delivers taut, punchy bass with control (no overhang), detailed midrange (e.g., realistic vocals like Norah Jones), and sparkling highs without early roll-off, though some note a slightly smoother or less aggressive top end, minor upper-midrange spice, and limited soundstage width compared to higher-end Naim models. Headphone output is a standout, driving most low-to-medium impedance cans cleanly with low output impedance (~0.44 ohms average).

### Build Quality
Described as solid and deluxe, with premium feel in controls like the stable volume knob and source buttons; internal upgrades include a larger toroidal transformer, improved power supply, circuit board, and capacitors for better power (up to 190W total into low-impedance loads, 300VA transients). No screen or standby mode—uses a hardwired rear power switch and simple LED input indicators.

### Reliability
Minimal direct complaints; its Class B-like efficiency means low idle power draw, and users report long-term satisfaction, with some upgrading from it as an entry point without reliability issues noted. Forums question if it's "still current" due to modest rated power for modern speakers, but reviews affirm capability even with low-sensitivity 4-ohm loads.

### Strengths
- Musical engagement and PRaT (pace, rhythm, and timing): "Contagious excitement" and effortless control.
- Value and personality in all-analog systems; AV bypass for integration.
- Drives demanding speakers and headphones exceptionally.

### Weaknesses
- Lacks digital connectivity (no Bluetooth, streaming, or USB).
- No remote universality for all functions; multi-product remote included.
- Potentially smoother treble; soundstage limitations; power may feel modest for very inefficient speakers.

### Overall Reputation
Hailed as a "glorious performer," "five-star" audiophile amp, and "highly recommended" entry to Naim's sound—timeless despite competition and dated features, ideal for pure hi-fi enthusiasts seeking fun, authoritative playback. Users often start here and upgrade, viewing it as a benchmark for price/performance.

## Key Value Factors

Several factors influence pricing for this amplifier:

- Geographic market: Australian retailers typically price higher than direct USD sources due to import costs and local market factors
- Dealer network: Limited dealer availability (approximately 67 dealers globally) can affect regional pricing
- Condition and warranty: New units with full manufacturer warranty command premium pricing; open box units offer 15–20% discounts
- Currency fluctuations: AUD/USD exchange rates significantly impact pricing conversions
- Supply status: Current backorder status at some retailers may support stable or slightly elevated pricing

The amplifier's consistent market positioning and strong demand support pricing within the AUD $3,100–$3,600 range for new condition units, with used examples typically 20–25% lower.
