By submitting an advertisement on StereoNET, you agree to follow these guidelines and understand that at a Volunteer or Administrator's discretion, inappropriate actions or deliberate misuse of the classifieds will result in access being removed, and/or banning from the website. The StereoNET Classifieds are provided for use by private individuals, and StereoNET sponsors (noted as COMMERCIAL tag on their advertisements). Those working in the industry or conducting a commercial business are als
First of all, to place an Advertising you must have Two Factor Authentication enabled for your account. While we designed the Classifieds to be as intuitive as possible, it can be complex for a first time user. To place your first Ad, head on over to Classifieds from the Top Navigation menu, or the Sub menu. Next, click New Ad on the right hand side buttons as shown above. Select your Category that you wish your advertisement to appear in. This is really important, so take the time to
Under no circumstances are Up Front Fees refundable. Even if you sell the item elsewhere, or if it does not sell (remember your ad is active for 14 days, then you get one free Repost).
The short answer is no. The Classifieds system, by design, was intended for individual products to be listed.
It records the Brand (eg: Klipsch), the Model Number (eg. Nines), and the Type of Product (eg. Bookshelf Speakers).
With information stored in a database in this way, we have created a searchable index of specific brands, model numbers, and pricing for those products. In the future, we will be able to show historical pricing information, and maybe even suggest selling prices
If you wish to change the price of your Active advertisement, simply click the Ad Options button beneath your ad, and then Change Price.
NOTES:
Changing the price will notify all users (including Mods/admin) who may be following your advertisement. Please don't abuse this feature or it will be removed from your account.
Seller's Fees are calculated on your Advertised Price, not the Selling Price. Do not change the price in order to lower the Seller's Fee
Perhaps you've spotted an advertisement that interests you, but you're not ready to make a decision (or offer) yet? Or maybe you want to create a list of advertisements you are interested in.
From the advertisement itself, simply hit the Follow button.
The system will then alert you to various statuses of the advertisement, such as when it is expiring, when it has expired, if it's withdrawn or marked as sold, or even if the seller changes the price.
Chasing something particular from JBL, Klipsch, or something less common like Aries Cerat? Create a search keyword notification and be alerted the moment it is triggered by someone posting a new advertisement containing your keyword. Use Classifieds Keywords Monitoring under Account Settings. Enter single words only, 3 or more characters in length.
Generally you are guided to the correct place to make payment for an Advertisement. However, if you lose your way, you can always find any outstanding invoices at the Invoices link. This can also be found in the Classifieds under the Features dropdown menu.
If you spot something out of the ordinary with a user's advertisement, or wish to bring something to our attention with your own advertisement, you can Report the ad to us, along with your comments in the report.
Simply go to the Ad, scroll down to beneath the Further Information area, and hit Report:
It is not possible to use the Repost Ad feature for an ad that you have withdrawn. You should only withdraw ads you are absolutely sure are no longer for sale.
You would need to recreate the advertisement.
Spotted a typo or want to add more information? You can Edit your advertisement.
Simply find the Ad Actions > Edit button beneath the Further Information field of your advertisement.
Note: Once your advertisement is submitted, you cannot change the Brand, Model Number, or Type of product. If you wish to change that, you will need to Report your advertisement to Moderators/Admin with your request on what you would like changed.
Simply, yes. If someone saw your advertisement on StereoNET and passed someone else's contact information to you as an interested buyer, then yes, you SOLD the item here on StereoNET. Seller's Fees are due and payable.
It was the advertisement placed here that led directly to as successful sale to an interested party.
Yes. You can imagine the amount of images and bandwidth consumed by the forums each day, let alone the Classifieds images.
So we have a 2.5Mb (now increased to 3.5Mb) file size limit per image. This is more than adequate for good resolution photos to support your ad.
We pay Amazon Web Services enough already for storage and other services, so this limit just helps keeps our costs in check too.
There are many image resizing tools and apps you can use, some are free, such
From the Classifieds Guidelines:
StereoNET does not offer any buyer or seller protection, per se. However, we will listen to both sides of an issue and attempt to mediate between two parties. We do not make any guarantee on the outcome, but will do our best to reach an amicable resolution for both parties, providing a few conditions are met (again, from the Guidelines).
We will not investigate any transaction where the advertisement has NOT been Marked a
The Classifieds uses the following descriptions as a guide for the condition of items for sale.

While we know StereoNET Classifieds are the absolute best platform for buying and selling, we appreciate that there are other platforms you may have placed your advertisement on too.
If your item happens to sell on another platform while advertised here, you need to withdraw your advertisement.
Simply go to your advertisement and click Withdraw Ad > Sold Elsewhere.
Note: Misreporting items sold on StereoNET as Sold Elsewhere will result in indefinite loss
The new Classifieds system provided an opportunity to record more data, log interactions between buyers and sellers, and implement processes that ensured those who were not doing the right thing and abiding by the guidelines they agreed to when placing an ad, would be discovered.
This has presented as either incorrectly marking items as sold elsewhere, letting ads expire without marking as sold, or simply not paying. The new classifieds system has exposed those users very quickly. It
While this is outlined in the How To Guide, and when you place an ad, it seems there is still some confusion.
Seller's Fees are calculated based on the Advertised Price, not the Selling Price.
All advertisements are considered Active for exactly 14 days from the time your advertisement was approved by Volunteer Moderators. You must not repost your advertisement (manually) before your ad expires. In the case of PAY ON SALE Ads, after the 14 days, a Repost Ad button will appear on your advertisement. That will then give you the chance to make adjustments to your advertisement, including our suggestion of lowering your price. Ensure all Required fields are filled in correctly and the
Absolutely. If you've purchased an item from another member via the Classifieds, press the green Purchased button on the advertisement.
By notifying us of your purchase, you automatically qualify for dispute mediation. We will not look further into issues arising with a transaction if:
The Advertisement is NOT marked as Sold.
or
You have not clicked the Purchased button as the Buyer.
This is recorded against the advertisement, helps tie Tr
You may have noticed a small shield icon on some ads, which says "Secure Ad" when you hover over it.
This is shown for ads where the Seller has authenticated their account with Two Factor Authentication (2FA).
While it is not fool-proof or a guarantee, it does provide an extra layer of security that lowers the risk of the advertisement being placed by a hijacked account.
We highly recommend enabling 2FA for your account.
There are a few reasons for this. Some Classifieds categories are Pay Up Front only.
New users to the Classifieds are forced to use the 'Pay Up Front' until they have had a successful transaction. Once that takes place, both options for "Pay On Sale" and "Pay Up Front" will become available where applicable.
In other cases, your account may have been moved to "Pay Up Front" only. Our algorithm may also detect and automatically move some accounts to the "Pay Up Front" opt
Box photos are easy to obtain on the internet. Plus, we had incidents in the past where scammers misrepresented a product being advertised (and sold) and literally sold them only an empty box! So the rule was imposed that box photos alone are not acceptable for Classifieds Ads. Discretion may be applied by Volunteers where the seller is known to StereoNET and they have positive Trader Feedback.
What Can I Do?
With that said, we understand that someone might want to sell a
Sometimes things don't go to plan. In a moment of weakness you decide to advertise your beloved valve amplifier, only to have a change of heart the following evening. Or perhaps you discover a component missing (bloody remotes!) or a fault with the item.
In that case, you can Withdraw your Advertisement.
Simply go to your advertisement and click Withdraw Ad > No Longer Available.
You will need to enter a reason - only Volunteer Moderators and Admin can see this re
