Suzi Wants to Power Your Modular Chord System
Chord Electronics teases its new Suzi pre/power modular amps ahead of their High End Munich 2024 debut.
Little Suzi's on the up—so said Tesla on its 1986 release, Mechanical Resonance. Chord Electronics will no doubt be hoping the same as the British hi-fi manufacturer prepares to unveil its new Suzi pre and power amplifier duo ahead of its official launch this autumn.
Designed by Chord's founder and owner, John Franks, the new Chord Suzi system includes a preamplifier and a power amplifier that features Chord's Ultima-derived tech. This tech has already been put to good use in the Ultima Pre 3, Ultima 5 and 6 power amps, and the Ultima Integrated, not to mention the more compact, desktop-friendly BerTTi power amp and Anni integrated.
Thanks to their modular nature, they have been designed to work with the brand's Chord Hugo 2 DAC and/or the 2go streamer, giving you some idea of their size.
Chord Electronics offers three examples of how it sees you combining these devices as building blocks for a high-performance compact hi-fi solution: an analogue pre/power amplifier incorporating a Suzi Pre with a Suzi amplifier; a DAC and amplifier combo bringing together a Suzi power amp with a Hugo 2 DAC; and a full streaming system connecting a Suzi power amplifier with a Hugo 2 DAC and a 2go streaming module.
The Suzi preamp and Suzi power amplifier will be launched formally this autumn. We hope to have full details, specifications, and pricing before then and will try to get more information when we visit Chord Electronics in Atrium 3.1, C122 at High End Munich 2024.
