Electrocompaniet Streaming Gets Smarter

Electrocompaniet has released its Enhanced EC Play App and Streaming Software with TIDAL 24/192 FLAC Support and “Plays with Audirvāna” Certification.

The latest release of its in-house developed EC Play app and streaming software from the Norweigan manufacturer is packed with exciting new features and improvements. The company says this release “aims to provide music enthusiasts with an elevated audio experience like never before”.

One of the key highlights of the new EC Streaming Engine is its seamless integration with TIDAL, the renowned music streaming platform. With TIDAL HiRes 24/192 FLAC support, and TIDAL Connect, Electrocompaniet users can now enjoy their favourite tracks in high-resolution audio quality, ensuring every note and detail is faithfully reproduced, just as the artist intended.

Electrocompaniet has also obtained the prestigious “Plays with Audirvāna” certification for the EC Software Engine. This certification is a testament to the EC Streaming Engine compatibility and seamless performance with Audirvāna.

Audirvāna is a software company founded in Paris in 2011, dedicated to computer-based high-end audio playback. Its in-house team developed and improved a unique technology to transform computers into a high-performance digital audio source. Their application is a solution to manage and organise a music collection, whether from a local music library or an HD streaming service such as TIDAL or Qobuz. It also includes all the features expected by the most demanding music professionals and enthusiasts.

Lasse Danielsen, Sales & Marketing Director at Electrocompaniet, told StereoNET:

We are excited to introduce the enhanced EC Play app and streaming software to our valued customers. With TIDAL HiRes 24/192 FLAC support and the 'Plays with Audirvana' certification, we are confident that this new version will take the audio experience to new heights, allowing users to immerse themselves in the richness and clarity of their favourite music.

The updated EC Play app also features an intuitive, multi-language user interface, making navigating through your music library, creating playlists, and discovering new artists and genres easier than ever. With its sleek design and user-friendly functionality, the EC Play app is designed to provide a seamless and enjoyable music streaming experience.

The latest version of the EC Play app and streaming software is now available for download on iOS and Android platforms.

applause awards

Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.

Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.

The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.

We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
