FAYOLA MULTI-ROOM AUDIO FROM PIONEER
Maybe a little late to the party, but certainly not short on features or functionality. Pioneer's new FAYOLA music systems delivers high-res stereo and multichannel sound wirelessly throughout the home.
Announced today, the FS-W40 and FS-W50 music systems, according to Pioneer are “ultra-modern music-systems and a completely new device genre”.
FAYOLA overcomes the limitations of ordinary audio-systems: it allows free setup and flexible configuration, transmits the signals in stereo as well as surround wirelessly to speakers, is almost unrestricted multi-room capable and can be used seamlessly with all streaming services and sound formats.
The Pioneer Remote App for iOS and Android is available in the respective app stores for intuitive control - whether it is a single system or an entire multi-room network.
Integrated into a personal Wi-Fi network, the systems stream music in high-resolution (up to 96kHz/24bit) quality or uncompressed multi-channel film sound without the need for cables.

The FS-W40 2.0 stereo system can be supplemented by a matching FS-SW40 subwoofer, which works just like the main loudspeakers wirelessly and is extremely flexible to set up. This subwoofer is already included with the 2.1 stereo system FS-W50.

For home theatre, either of the two basic systems can be converted into a surround system simply by adding the separately available FS-S40 satellite speakers. The media center understands the multi-channel soundtracks of Blu-ray discs or video services and automatically adjusts them to the available loudspeakers without the need for any additional cabling except a power connection.

No matter where the music comes from, whether it be the internet, a locally connected source, streaming services including Spotify, Tidal or Deezer, a hard disk, a USB memory, TV or a smartphone, FAYOLA can now stream it to compatible devices throughout the house. Pioneer says that it will stream synchronously as a group, or you can choose individual sources connected to the main room and make them accessible to individual users in other rooms.
Chromecast integration is also expected to be included in a future firmware update.
The real drawcard however is that via a recent firmware upgrade and FireConnect, the Pioneer SC-LX901, SC-LX801, SC-LX701, SC-LX501, VSX-1131 and VSX-831, VSX-S520D and VSX-S520, the stereo receiver SX-S30DAB, the network player N-30AE, Center NC-50DAB and the HiFi micro systems XC-HM86D, X-HM86D, X-HM76D and X-HM76 products have already been upgraded to integrate with the FAYOLA media center.
The FAYOLA systems are available in Australia soon in both white and titanium finish. Models include FS-W40 (2 Channel Stereo), FS-W50 (2.1 Channel with optional FS-SW40 subwoofer) and FS-S40 (Surround Satellite Speakers). Pricing is not yet confirmed.
