Zeiler Audio Swiss Hand-Crafted Amplifiers Land in the UK

The PR-01 pre-amp and PA-01 power amplifier from Swiss high-end manufacturer Zeiler Audio are now available in the UK through the company's new association with British hi-fi sales operation Digital Audio Consultancy.

Hand-made in Switzerland, Zeiler Audio offers just this pair of precision-engineered valve amplifiers for discerning audiophiles, guided by the philosophy of 'existing to create extraordinary musical experiences', so we are told.

To that end, the PR-01 and PA-01 amplifiers promise a “timeless design, intuitive control and unsurpassed attention to detail”.

They certainly look the part, with Zeiler stating both units are precision CNC-milled from solid aluminium billet to form an extremely sturdy chassis, with a bead-blasted treatment, anodised finish, wrapped up in a highly resistive ceramic coating.

The PR-01 pre-amp (above) is a single-ended pure triode Class A design offering a precision volume control “providing optimal channel synchronisation and sensitive volume adjustments”. The pre sports four inputs, including a phono stage with different sensitivities for moving magnet cartridges. Zeiler says the amp uses 12AX7/ECC83 valves to ensure robust future availability.

The partnering 2x 10-watt single-ended PA-01 power amplifier (below) is based on a triode configuration, utilising a pair of KT150 tubes and two 12AX7/ECC83 in the output stage. Additionally, it offers impedance-matching covering 4 or 8-ohm output impedances, with a 16-ohm option on request from the factory.

Furthermore, we are told that both designs benefit from advanced power supplies mounted on suspended sub-chassis to mechanically isolate them from the audio circuits, and manually channel-matched parts to close tolerances.

Additionally, there are oversized choke-regulated power supplies with custom-made power transformers alongside cryogenically treated internal OFC copper wiring.

Finally, Lundahl input and output transformers are said to galvanically isolate the preamplifier from the outside world, with the power amp benefitting from Lundahl C-core output devices.

The Zeiler Audio amplifiers are available to order now priced at £29,950 each.
