VPI RELEASES NEW TONEARM RANGE
New Jersey outfit, VPI Industries, have been very busy recently. Not only has the legacy turntable brand extended its warranty to 5 years, but more importantly, they've also been designing new equipment.
At AXPONA over the weekend, they have presented their new 12-inch Fatboy Unipivot and Gimbal tonearms to the Chicago crowds.
Both versions are now available as choices for all VPI turntables. Additionally, they can be easily mounted on to other turntable brands.
The Fatboy adds a new level adjustment to the VPI-type tonearm.
On the Unipivot version, you can adjust azimuth using the side arm tube setscrews, the adjustable side weights, or the included dual pivot.
By having the combination of a 3D printed-tube with the finely machined back-stock, it creates the perfect balance of precision and balance for your tonearm.
The fine adjustable counterweight makes cartridge set-up easier than ever.
Initially, the Fatboy (Uni and Gimbal) are only available in 12-inch versions, but they will eventually be released in 10-inch and 9-inch flavours too.
VPI Fatboy tonearms are backwards compatible with all VPI turntables. Well, all apart from Travelers and Nomads V1.'
Local pricing and availability has not yet been confirmed.
