Vertere Releases Challenger DC Power Supply Upgrade

Owners of Vertere's award-winning DG-1 Turntable and Tempo Motor Drive will be pleased to learn of the company's new Challenger dedicated DC power supply upgrade.

Challenger is a 100-240 VAC, 50~60 Hz, 30 VDC output (2.17A) power supply that is said to be the result of countless hours of testing and investigative listening. It provided clean power that is stable and free from interference to ensure the motor drives operate at their optimum.

Challenger is supplied with a standard mains cable or the Challenger Redline Package, which includes a Redline mains cable for further enhanced performance. Redline mains cable can be fitted with UK, Europe, US, Swiss and Australian plugs.

According to Vertere:

The music we hear when playing vinyl records, in reality, comes from the motor! The motor is the only source of energy in the system. It is this energy that drives the record past the stylus thus making the music we hear. Any amount of noise or fluctuation in the drive system will adversely impact on the music. Detail, dynamics, timbre, timing and musicality are just some of the qualities that will suffer as a result.

The Vertere Challenger costs £350 (inc VAT) with a “standard mains cable”; however, you can opt to have a Redline mains cable for a little extra.
