Triangle Announces Lunar 3 Turntable in Capella Colours
Designed to accompany its Capella active speakers, Triangle's new Lunar 3 turntable borrows Austrian know-how.
The new Lunar 3 is inspired by Pro-Ject's flagship Debut Carbon model, with its iconic carbon fibre arm. It incorporates a phono pre-amplifier for perfect compatibility with Capella active loudspeakers and comes in luxurious lacquered finishes.
The Lunar 3's motor features a suspension system alongside a pair of Sorbothane isolation blocks to mitigate unwanted vibrations and provide “perfectly controlled” rotational speed. The belt-driven steel platter's density also contributes to the deck's even rotation. All these components are placed on a high-density fiberboard base mounted on three damping feet, guaranteeing excellent stability. 33.3 and 45-rpm speeds are selected via a switch under the turntable's left front panel.
The Pro-Ject-sourced carbon fibre tonearm has a stated effective weight of 6g and has the advantage of being exceptionally light and rigid to reduce unwanted vibrations. Tracking force is adjusted via a counterweight placed on the back of the tonearm, while an anti-skating calibration weight compensates for the centripetal force that pulls the tonearm towards the inside of the record. The tonearm comes loaded with an Ortofon 2M Red moving magnet cartridge.
Lunar 3's onboard MM phono preamp enables it to connect to your hi-fi without requiring an additional amplifier. It can also hook up directly with powered speakers such as Triangle's impressive Capella.
The Lunar 3 features a luxurious lacquered finish in black, white, and blue to beautifully match the Capella speakers. It also comes with a lightly smoked acrylic dust cover.
The Triangle Lunar 3 turntable is available now, priced at £699/ €699.
