Sennheiser Momentum 4 Wireless ANC Headphones Teased
Sennheiser teases Momentum 4 Wireless over-ear headphones ahead of August release.
Sennheiser's Momentum 4 Wireless noise-cancelling headphones have officially broken cover alongside the new model's confirmed August release date.
The German brand has shared a few details about the upcoming Momentum 4 Wireless in its concise press release to get people excited about the long-awaited follow-up to 2019's Momentum 3 Wireless.
Judging by the details, single image of the headphones, and overall tone of the press release, Sennheiser is going all-out with a premium-focused redesign rather than simply tweaking its already popular Momentum 3 Wireless.
Firstly, the Momentum 4 Wireless will benefit from an “all-new lightweight design” and “deep-cushioned” synthetic leather earpads. This will be partnered by a headband dressed in grey fabric, as shown in the image.
We are also informed that the “audiophile inspired” 42mm drivers in the Momentum 4 Wireless have been angled in to direct sound slightly from the front towards the wearer's ears to deliver “a more natural soundstage”. Moreover, we're told to expect “best-in-class sound”, with Sennheiser proudly boasting that its Signature Sound “surpasses everything in its class”. Now, that's fighting talk.
Add to that is big news for commuters and jet-setters alike in the Momentum 4 Wireless's claimed 60 hours of battery stamina. Of course, we assume that this figure is with its Adaptaptive Noise Cancelling switched off, but even so, that should have some of the current crop of go-to noise cancellers slightly concerned.
Finally, call quality and voice assistance access have apparently been improved thanks to upgraded voice pick-up, while users will also benefit from bespoke tuning via “multiple sound customisation features”.
Unfortunately, the rest of the specs, such as price, weather resistance, size, weight, controls, etc., must wait until the next instalment from Sennheiser.
The Sennheiser Momentum 4 Wireless over-ear headphones should be available globally from August. More news as we get it.
