Ruark R3 Music System Launched

Ruark has officially announced its R3 Music System.

Ruark's R3 music system (£629) first appeared as a teaser, but now all of its vital statistics have been laid bare for all to see.

The British audio brand's latest all-in-one system combines what Ruark describes as a dapper, upscale design with a versatile and playful form factor. That is all, of course, a matter of taste. What we can say is that its compact dimensions (167 x 420 x 220mm (HxWxD), and 5.3kg) will no doubt see it slip seamlessly into any room in the house.

Right from the woven fabric grille, curved edges and, of course, the trademark RotoDial controller, the brand's singularly British design language is easy to spot on the R3.

Ruark's one-box wonder does offer enough listening options to keep everyone in the household happy. You can stream songs from Spotify Connect, TIDAL, Amazon Music and Deezer over Wi-Fi or Bluetooth aptX, listen to internet, DAB/DAB+ or FM radio stations, or spin a CD using the onboard player. Additionally, you have RCA line in and line out, an optical digital input as well as USB Type C for playback and charging a smart device. Along with its large clock format, high-contrast OLED screen, the Ruark R3 could be an ideal bedside companion.

Driving the system is a two-channel Class A-B amplifier that's said to have been tweaked using Ruark's own algorithms along with “the latest digital sound processing” which promises detail and a realistic sound stage that exceeds R3's compact profile. Furthermore, we're told that the cabinet has been carefully tuned to provide the ideal housing for the company's NS+ loudspeaker units that boast a lightweight cone assembly along with a low-reflection air-flowed chassis, and powerful neodymium magnet system.
