Rotel S14 Integrated Network Player - Just Add Speakers
Rotel's S14 is a just-add-speakers integrated network player that covers all your streaming needs.
Rotel's S14 just-add-speakers system could well be the only box modern music lovers need, as it offers access to streaming services, networked music libraries, wireless playback, as well as in-built amplification. It will even allow you to hook up other hi-fi kit via its range of digital and analogue inputs.
Rotel classes its S14 as an “integrated network streamer” that boasts 150W of Class AB amplification at 4 Ohms or 80W at 8 Ohm, so it should cope with most modern loudspeakers. The integrated amp circuits feed high-current output transistors powered by an oversized toroidal transformer and, according to Rotel, deliver precision and control.
At the centre of its digitalness is a 32-bit ESS Sabre digital-to-analogue converter that crunches the numbers and feeds the amplifier from sources up to 24-bit/384kHz PCM, as well as fully unfolded MQA files via wired ethernet or dual-band wi-fi.
The Rotel S14 supports all the expected streaming services, meaning that Spotify, TIDAL, Qobuz and more are all to hand on the accompanying S14 mobile app for iOS and Android. You can also use Roon as the S14 is Roon Ready as well as it supporting Apple AirPlay 2, Google Cast and aptX HD Bluetooth. In addition, album artwork and such are presented on the central colour display.
Already have some hi-fi equipment you'd like to connect with this new all-in-one? Rotel has equipped the S14 with coaxial, optical, analogue RCA and PC-USB source inputs. Additionally, there is a fascia-mounted headphone port and subwoofer out on the rear panel near the speaker terminals.
The Rotel S14 is available now in black or silver for £2,499.
