Rotel Diamond Series Integrated Amplifier and DAC Transport Launched

Rotel Diamond Series RA-6000 integrated amp and DT-6000 DAC transport marks the 60th anniversary of the family brand.

Rotel's two-model Diamond Series comprises the RA-6000 integrated amp and DT-6000 DAC transport and celebrates the brand's 60-year legacy and “commitment to quality and passion for exceptional audio performance”.

Established in 1961 in Tokyo, Japan, by founder Mr Tomoki Tachikawa, Rotel has since been directed and managed by his family ever since. In celebration of this landmark anniversary, the Diamond Series products promise audiophile-standard performance thanks to a combination of Michi-inspired circuit design and high-quality bespoke and custom components, says the brand.

The DT-6000 DAC Transport and RA-6000 Integrated Amplifier shares a new, contemporary industrial design language while paying tribute to the brand's iconic heritage through generations of legacy models.

ROTEL RA-6000

The RA-6000 Integrated Amplifier delivers 350 watts of output power into 4-ohm speaker loads and is said to leverage its technical and performance design from the brand's flagship Michi series models.

We're told that this is especially the case regarding circuit design, acoustic component selection and power supply engineering methods – while further developing the upgrades found in Rotel's recent MKII models.

Connectivity shouldn't pose an issue thanks to an array of source inputs, including a trio each of coaxial, optical, and analogue, alongside balanced XLR, PC-USB supporting MQA with Apple users get their own iOS USB. Wireless fans are treated to aptX HD Bluetooth; meanwhile, vinylistas are catered for thanks to a moving magnet phono stage.

ROTEL DT-6000

The DT-6000 DAC Transport benefits from an eight-channel ESS Sabre ES9028PRO Digital to Analogue converter configured to dedicate four mono DACs each to the left and right channels. Rotel states that redundant signal processing of the digital data streams extracts nuances of audio with exacting clarity and detail with an exceptionally low noise floor.

The DAC feeds custom-engineered, fully balanced differential output filters with sonic components critically tuned for, so says the manufacturer, life-like reproduction of the audio.

The DT-6000 is apparently powered by an in-house manufactured, bespoke shielded toroidal transformer with high-efficiency slit foil smoothing capacitors said to reduce stray emissions while delivering independent, isolated, low noise power to all critical circuits, further reducing noise and distortion.

The unit includes a PC-USB input supporting MQA and DSD audio playback. Additionally, it supports PCM 32-bit/384kHz music files through the coaxial and optical inputs, while a tray-loading CD mechanism offers even more playback flexibility.

The Diamond Series RA-6000 integrated (£3,999/ €4,499) and DT-6000 DAC transport (£1,999/ €2,299) will be available in black and silver finishes from July 2022.
