Pro-Ject’s Configurator Could Prove Too Tempting

The new online configurator enables you to build a custom shop Pro-Ject Xtension 9 to your own specifications—just keep an eye on those options.

Whether it's guitars, cars, bikes, or gaming controllers, most of us will have configured our dream items using a brand's online tool. Some of us will even have hit the buy button once those optional extras and colourways have been carefully considered.

The great news is you can now do this with Pro-Ject's already gorgeous-looking Xtension 9 turntable.

To design a vinyl player that fits your specifications and needs, visit Pro-Ject's new configurator tool and select your preferences.

Here, you can unleash your creativity and customise elements such as the plinth finish, tonearm, cartridge, and accessories, resulting in your perfect and, most likely, one-of-a-kind deck.

Pro-Ject will then, of course, build it to your specifications and dispatch your bespoke machine, not only handing over a deck that matches your requirements perfectly but also the bragging rights to owning a custom turntable.

If you are anything like us, you will find yourself returning to your design, tweaking it, and repeating the process numerous times. So, put a decent portion of your time aside to build your ultimate creation. Moreover, keep an eye on that total—the standard “SuperPack” deck sits at around £3,000 before adding extra high-end components such as an Evo 9 CC HG tonearm, Pick It MC9 cartridge, and a high-gloss finish, which can soon see figures beyond double that.

The standard Xtension 9 turntable is designed as one of the Austrian company's most reliable, user-friendly turntables, blending a slimline chassis with a heavy aluminium platter riding on an inverted main bearing for smoother rotation. Mounted onto a wood chassis (if you go for the standard unit), the table is decoupled from its environment through magnetically isolated suspension feet which reduce unwanted vibrations.

If you want Pro-Ject to tailor a turntable just for you, visit the Xtension 9 configurator.
