Neat Acoustics ORKESTRA Floorstanding Loudspeaker Launched

Neat Acoustics announces its latest floorstander to follow the EKSTRA and MINISTRA loudspeakers.

Neat Acoustics' ORKESTRA is the latest addition to the series of speakers which began with the EKSTRA model in 2019.

ORKESTRA is said to bring together elements from the EKSTRA and the prestige ULTIMATUM XL6 Model. Neat Acoustics' new 2.5-way floorstanding loudspeaker incorporates a 75mm true ribbon tweeter, and three Peerless 170mm main drive units.

Additionally, the compact 103 x22x24cm (HxWxD) full-range loudspeaker has a remarkably tiny footprint that measures just 32x24cm and so can easily be accommodated in most rooms.

The upper section of the ORKESTRA houses the ribbon tweeter and a 170mm drive unit handling bass and midrange. This configuration actually acts as a sealed 2-way speaker in its own right as it is sealed off from the lower section. Below that, you will find a pair of downward-facing 170mm drive units in isobaric configuration. These are charged with handling only the very low bass frequencies as if it were an integrated subwoofer.

The result, says Neat Acoustics, is that the ORKESTRA combines incredible bass power with delicacy, and delivers a comprehensive depiction of all types of music. The Neat ORKESTRA has a claimed frequency range of 20Hz – 40kHz and a  88dB/ 2.83v  sensitivity.

The crossover is a minimal design and utilises 1st and 2nd order slopes. The crossover components are all hard-wired, with point-to-point connections to maximise integrity, says the manufacturer.  Also, it states that the crossover components are of “premium audiophile quality” and include high voltage polypropylene capacitors and low loss air-cored inductors.

The ORKESTRA is priced at £5,485 per pair (RRP) and is supplied with a single terminal pair as standard. Bi-wire/bi-amp terminals can be fitted at no additional cost if specified with order.

Standard finishes: Natural Oak; American Walnut; Black Oak; Satin White.
