More Affordable Philips TVs Coming with Bowers & Wilkins Audio

Bowers & Wilkins and Philips have extended their partnership to bring more unique TV offerings to the market.

TP Vision, the company behind Philips TV, and the venerable British hi-fi brand, Bowers & Wilkins first buddied up in 2018. The following two years has seen them produce several high-end Philips televisions that combine Philips' OLED and Ambilight picture technologies with the British speaker brand's premium audio solutions.

We have now been told that there are not only more big-screen OLED TVs with potent speaker systems on the horizon, but there are also smaller-screened LCD models coming very soon.

The latest Philips OLED+ TV models are due to launch during this half of 2020 with more affordable LCD models to follow, as first mentioned in January with the announcement of the 43-inch 9235 and 55-inch and 65-inch 9435 LCD TVs.

As with the Philips OLEDs, both of the LCD TVs support Dolby Vision and HDR10+ formats, so it is fair to assume that the latest models will also be similarly equipped. The main difference will likely be the associated audio with a scope ranging from the Tweeter-on-Top soundbar found on the OLED+984 to the less exotic soundbar solution as seen accompanying the 9235.

Nevertheless, it appears that the Philips and Bowers & Wilkins partnership has won over plenty of customers and looks to be going from strength-to-strength.
