Melco OTA Update Welcomes Roon 1.8

Melco's latest 4.10 firmware enables its Japanese-engineered libraries for the latest version of Roon.

Following the release of Roon 1.8, Melco Audio has released a new over-the-air firmware update (4.10), bringing Roon Ready integration to its five-strong EX Series of digital libraries, enabling them to exploit the full potential of the latest version of Roon.

The new update has started to land on Melco's current EX Series (or EX Series-updated) digital music libraries, ready to be installed by users from the front panel.

Roon Ready integration adds yet another benefit to the feature-packed Melco EX Series platform. Eschewing the use of standard IT parts for the ultimate sound quality, Melco's EX Series offers local playback from a choice of either HDD or SSD drives as well as enabling owners the convenience and discovery of Hi-Res music streaming from services such as Tidal and Qobuz (via UPnP).

Melco Audio General Manager Dan Raggett told StereoNET:

We continue to invest in features and quality improvements for the benefit of Melco customers, old and new. We listen to our customers' needs and provide the best solutions we can. We are thankful for all customer feedback and are delighted to introduce Roon together with these latest improvements.

Melco's new 4.10 firmware also brings several additional features, including markerless DSD compatibility for a greater number of devices, Twonky server stability improvements, plus web page stability improvements.
