Lowther's Almira is the first new loudspeaker design from the British-born manufacturer in over 30 years, and it will be showcased at this year's UK Audio Show.

Lowther has been designing, producing, and distributing speakers for discerning audiophiles for over 90 years. We are told that the Almira is designed to perform equally well in small and large spaces. Furthermore, it preserves the clarity and scale of Lowther's larger speaker cabinets but with a much smaller footprint.

The £12,000 loudspeakers use Lowther's own DX3 drive units and are a 2.3m single folded quarter-wave Voigt horn design with a floor facing exit. All are handmade in Great Britain to a limited issue and sold in numbered pairs, you can specify whether you want them with or without top cover grilles. Additionally, they all come with levelling screw feet which are removable for carpet standing.

The Lowther TP2 will join its new Almira stablemate. The TP2 is based on one of the legendary early folded corner horn designs. Like the AudioVector and Lowther-Hegeman, it uses the dual-loaded horn principle, giving high efficiency and a 'scale' of sound typical of the physically larger horns.

This exclusive brand will be at Syndicate 29 at the Staverton Park Hotel on October 8th and 9th.
