Lehmannaudio Black Cube II Phono Stage Launched

Lehmannaudio has announcecd an update of its iconic Black Cube phono stage.

Lehmannaudio made its name with the iconic Black Cube phono stage in 1995. Now, in 2020, the company has launched its upgraded and uprated Black Cube II.

Lehmannaudio Black Cube II

The Black Cube II  combines studio-grade components and decades of expert design knowledge, says the brand. The result promised is a phono stage that will allow virtually any moving magnet (MM) or moving coil (MC) cartridge to achieve its full potential.

The Lehmannaudio Black Cube II sports a configurable bass filter with 16 different setting options as well as an “ultra-precise, passive RIAA filter network”. That network sits between two linear gain stages and is created using super-grade, high-transient, close-tolerance polypropylene foil capacitors, boasts the manufacturer.

Additionally, this new Cube boasts a custom-designed power supply for a wide, distortion-free dynamic range. Furthermore, the unit's aluminium enclosure is dampened under the lid to resist unwanted vibrations. The professional input stages ensure low-noise reproduction as well as the audio section being equipped with additional sub-assemblies for hum, HF and noise suppression. We are also told that its dual-sided audio board allows an optimised trace layout for an exceptionally smooth operation.

Each channel offers a slot to adjust for a custom impedance value (947kΩ, 1kΩ & 100Ω, plus 1 x Custom Load, 1 x Hardwire Slot), along with adjustable gain settings (36, 46, 56 & 66dB).

Sensitivity (Output 775 mV/ 0 dB) is rated at 3.8 mV/1 kHz for MM with MC at 0.38 mV/1 kHz. Channel separation is given as being > 85 dB at 10 kHz.

The Lehmannaudio Black Cube II is available with either a black or silver faceplate now at an SRP of £599.00.
