Kanto ORA Desktop Powered Speakers Released
Kanto Audio announces its compact ORA powered loudspeakers which the Canadian brand says are perfect for music, gaming and even as home studio monitors.
Measuring just 17.5 x 10 x 14.1cm (HxWxD), Kanto's new ORA loudspeakers are perfectly suited for the job in hand, whether that be underneath your monitor or standing on either side of your laptop. Adding to their versatility, a range of optional stands putting them in landscape or portrait and at the right height and angle for your requirements are available.
The compact cabinets are home to a waveguided 2cm silk dome tweeter and 7.5cm paper cone mid/bass unit pushed along by 9W and 16W of Class D amplification, respectively. The resulting 50W RMS, says Kanto Audio, presents “clear highs, a detailed midrange and an impressively powerful bass” alongside a claimed 70Hz-22kHz frequency response.
Connectivity-wise, the ORA speakers feature Bluetooth 5.0 to keep wireless streamers happy, whereas cabled fans are offered an analogue RCA line level and a USB-C input. The latter aims to connect your PC, mobile phone (even the iPhone 15 now!), portable players and more and supports hi-res files up to 24-bit/96kHz. Looking for more rumble in your gaming? Hook up the optional SUB8 subwoofer via the dedicated output.
Source input is displayed via coloured LED - Green for RCA analogue, Yellow for USB-C and Blue, of course, for Bluetooth. You also get a fascia-mounted volume control dial on the main speaker.
The Kanto Audio ORA desktop speaker system is available now for £299/ €299 with a bundled free 60-day trial of the hi-res music streaming service Qobuz. The optional Kanto Audio S2 (£25/ €30), SE2 (£30/ €38), and S9 (£66/ €76) Speaker Stands are also now available.
