iFi Audio GO link Max Supersizes Output
iFi's GO link Max dongle offers 4.4mm balanced and 3.5mm S-balanced ports alongside up to 241mW output power.
The GO link Max takes iFi's popular Go link DAC dongle and pushes it to the max. The resulting GO link Max features improvements in output power to drive demanding headphones and a balanced Dual DAC setup with a 4.4mm balanced headphone output while minimising distortion and increasing dynamic range.
Despite its compact size (150x15x10mm/5.9x0.59x0.39 inches), the GO link Max ultraportable DAC delivers up to 241mW output power. It uses advanced, balanced circuitry with a Dual ES9219 DAC setup, physically and audibly separating the left and right channels - with separation measuring >118dB. Furthermore, the GO link Max is compatible with PCM 384kHz and DSD 256. It does, however, drop MQA rendering.
The GO link Max retains its predecessor's 3.5mm S-Balanced output but adds a 4.4mm balanced headphone output to help listeners unlock the benefits of ultra-clear, precise, balanced sound.
Thanks to its advanced 'Quad DAC+' and Jitter Elimination technologies, the GO link Max promises ultra-low distortion (THD+N ≤0.0016% @ 32ohms 2.4V via 4.4mm) and outstanding clarity. The signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) has been improved from the 125dBA (S-Balanced) of the original GO link to an impressive 130dBA (Balanced), resulting in a cleaner, more detailed sound with minimal background noise.
The THD Compensation minimises harmonic distortion with built-in cutting-edge technology to reduce distortion and deliver a purer, cleaner sound. iFi has also fine-tuned and enhanced the Dynamic Range Enhancement (DRE) to boost the range between the loudest and quietest moments. It boosts the dynamic range by an additional +6dB, making your music experience more exciting and engaging, says the Southport, UK-based brand.
GO link Max uses a hardware-based volume control, allowing you to turn the volume up or down without losing any musical detail. Meanwhile, with the silver-plated copper cable and noise-rejecting helix design, we're told that “you can enjoy clear, uninterrupted sound no matter where you are.”
The iFi GO link Max can be purchased for £79/ €79.
