ELAC Miracord 80 Turntable Now Available
ELAC's Miracord 80 Turntable features a 10-inch carbon fibre tonearm and optional moving magnet cartridge made by Clearaudio for ELAC.
The Miracord 80 was previewed at High End Munich and is a continuation of ELAC's vinyl playback heritage which started in 1948.
The new range-topping vinyl source features a plinth milled from solid wood, which is then finished in high gloss black or walnut veneer. The plinth is complemented by anodised aluminium panels that add further stability and mass. The entire turntable tips the scales at 14 kg.
The Miracord 80's 5.6kg platter features a complex bearing design belt-driven by a PID servo-controlled DC motor whose optical control ensures impressive speed stability (+/- 0.33 % @ 3 kHz) and a claimed < 0.15 % Wow & Flutter.
The newly developed 10-inch tonearm is made from carbon fibre and can be ordered fitted with a D96 moving magnet cartridge and stylus, which has been manufactured for ELAC by Clearaudio.
The ELAC Miracord 80 is available now in gloss black or walnut veneer with a UK SRP of £2,199 with a D96 cartridge or £1,999 without. An optional lid is also available, priced at £199.
