EAT E-Glo II Phono Stage Now Available

The E-Glo II phono stage boasts “a cutting-edge design that maximises performance from any cartridge” while giving your vinyl system a stylish glow-up through its striking visuals.

It is designed for audiophile-grade sound quality, while its chic aluminium casing beautifully complements its six-tube design.

The E-Glo II incorporates four ECC83s and two ECC88s, which are widely regarded by audiophiles for their exceptional performance. This means they offer easy replacement options and the flexibility to experiment with different tube types.

The E-Glo II's fully balanced input stage features a Lundahl LL1932 step-up transformer, which offers 45dB of gain. Meanwhile, the passive equalisation stage enhances efficiency, putting less pressure on the valves. EAT states this results in low-noise output (THD, MM/ MC: <0,1% / 1V RMS) and more gain options - Gain MM: 46 dB, Gain 1 MC: 76 dB, Gain 2 MC: 70 dB.

Premium components, such as Mundorf output and WIMA capacitors (semi-crystalline hydrocarbon polypropylene film capacitors instead of previously used MKP capacitors in gain and RIAA stage), further elevate performance.

The E-Glo II offers adjustable capacitance loading (50,150,270,370,520,620,740,840 pF) for moving-magnet cartridges and continuous resistance adjustment (10,20,40,80,150,300,600,1200 Ohm/ 70dB and 2,5,10,20,40,80,150,300 Ohm/ 76dB) for moving-coil cartridges, making it compatible with most setups. Moreover, the front-mounted switches allow for easy adjustments to settings.

Moving magnet cartridges get RCA input, whereas moving coil phono carts get both RCA and XLR options. The output is stereo RCA. The company states that RIAA accuracy is within 0,3dB/ 20Hz-20kHz.

For quiet operation, the E-Glo II uses an external power supply with a custom toroid transformer, which is double-shielded to prevent interference. We are told that the design also includes noise-reducing resistors and high-quality capacitors to further isolate the phono stage from electromagnetic disruptions.

The E-Glo II is also a looker and allows you to select the colour of the dimmable LED lights that illuminate the valves for an individual touch.

The EAT E-Glo II is now available, priced at £8,000.
