DIRAC LIVE ROOM OPTIMISATION TOOL NOW EASIER TO USE
Swedish-based Dirac Research has made the beta version of its new Dirac Live room correction software solution available. See it demonstrated at CEDIA 2018 at Booth 2530.
Owners of Arcam, Lexicon, Audio Control and NAD units can take advantage of the upgraded user interface and technical performance. Naturally, broader compatibility will roll out in due course.
The latest version of Dirac Live takes what was a technical process that required substantial knowledge and now presents it in a more intuitive app.
Additionally, the new Dirac Live also includes an enhanced phase correction algorithm for improved stereo reproduction. Where the previous version of Dirac Live measured the phase of each stereo speaker individually, this new version also analyses speakers in pairs, ensuring that the pair’s phase responses are matched to each other.
Niklas Thorin told StereoNET:
Dirac Live has served as the industry’s reference room correction solution since it was first unveiled over five years ago. It established a new standard in-room correction technology and allowed home theatre systems to achieve a new degree in acoustical perfection. However, new UI design and technical advancements have inspired us to reimagine the Dirac Live solution for its second generation – combining the brilliance of the first-generation solution with recent market developments to usher in a new era of Dirac Live.
Furthermore, the “Dirac Live Modules” will offer a unique piece of room correction functionality that allows you to customise your solution based on their specific requirements; for example home theatre, stereo, professional studio, etc.
Finally, the new version brings multi-language support for Spanish, French, Mandarin, Japanese, and Swedish, as well as having device support for laptops, tablets, and smartphone.
