DENON REVEALS 600 SERIES INTEGRATED AMP AND CD PLAYER
Denon takes the wrappers off its PMA-600NE Integrated Amplifier and DCD-600NE CD Player.
The Denon 600 Series welcomes the PMA-600NE integrated amplifier that boasts Bluetooth amongst its spec sheet, and the new DCD-6000NE CD player to the fold. With over 100 years' experience of producing premium Hi-Fi products, Denon promises that these latest offerings are great value for money.
PMA-600NE Integrated Amplifier
Featuring Denon's Advanced High Current (AHC) single push-pull circuit power amplification technology, the PMA-600NE Integrated Amplifier delivers 70 Watts of power-per-channel (4ohm, 1kHz, THD 0.7%, two-channel).
With PMA-600NE is kitted out with five analogue inputs including a MM Phono input featuring a new high-gain EQ circuit. There is also a pair of optical ins as well as a coaxial port.
Additionally, there's the option to go wireless with Bluetooth streaming supported by a 24-bit/192kHz digital-to-analogue converter.
The integrated amplifier possesses some pretty high-end features such as separate paths from the main power transformer for the audio and control circuits. Furthermore, you can disable the digital inputs, including Bluetooth. By selecting the amp's Analogue Mode, you avoid high-frequency digital influences on the analogue section. The result is “uninhibited clarity and musical fidelity.”
Finally, Denon's proprietary Signal Level Divided Construction (SLDC) chassis ensures only the intended nuances of the music are amplified and transmitted by mitigating vibration and other unwanted effects from the surrounding environment.
Shinichi Yamauchi, Sound Master at Denon, told StereoNET:
No product leaves the Denon factory until it has the Sound Master seal of approval, for which our team in Japan meticulously listens to every product to ensure the voicing and build quality is consistent with other Denon New Era series products. The new 600 series products have the same precise, clean and powerful Denon sound because they have the same Hi-Fi engineering concept, including advanced components, circuitry, amplification, and layout as other Denon Hi-Fi products. The overall aesthetic, sound quality and design integrity of the PMA-600NE is unparalleled at the price.
DCD-600NE CD Player
Denon has been building CD players for 35 years, and the DCD-600NE CD Player builds on this heritage. As well as boasting support for CD, CD-R/RW, MP3 and WMA formats you also get Denon AL32 Processing technology ensuring discs always sound their best.
The CD player is outfitted with power transformers fitted immediately above the insulators to prevent unwanted vibration. Switching the disc spinner to Pure Direct Mode feeds sound directly to the amplifiers by deactivating the front display that might otherwise colour the sound.
Additionally, the circuit design in the DCD-600NE is thoughtfully engineered to make signal paths as short as possible. With layered circuit boards and shorter circuits, the interference between left and right channels is reduced. As a result, the circuit paths in the DCD-600NE reproduce a cleaner audio signal that remains faithful to the original recording.
Price and availability
The PMA-600NE Integrated Amplifier has an RRP of £349 and the DCD-600NE CD Player, £249. Both will be available in September 2019.
