Degritter Confirms New Record Cleaning Model

Degritter flagship ultrasonic record cleaning machine on its way after prototype spotted at High End Munich 2022.

Degritter told us when we visited their stand at the Munich show that a new record cleaning machine model was being worked on, and now the Estonian-based company has gone public through its email newsletter.

They rightly stated that, while the red machine was getting most of the attention, there was a black version with gold dials that was also a prototype version. This was quite fitting as the original Degritter RCM debuted at High End Munich 2019.

Degritter is celebrating its fifth anniversary and is preparing what it calls the “Bugatti or the Manolo Blahnik” of the record cleaning world. The details are still being ironed out, but we are told to expect dual water tanks so that the machine can wash first with cleaning fluid and then rinse with clean water.

The top-flight cleaning machine would also have what Degritter calls “smart ultrasonic frequency”. Here there would be 80 kHz and 120 kHz ultrasound frequencies, with the first clearing larger particles and the latter for “the best sparkling results”. Finally, Degritter plans to increase the transducers from four to six for more powerful ultrasonic cleaning.

If all goes according to plan, Degritter hopes to showcase the actual prototype this coming autumn and announce the full feature list.

What would you like to see included in the new version? Degritter states, “we've been on a roll recently with our team, brainstorming potential new features to our whole product catalogue, so who knows - we might have some more news soon about features and additions that will make record cleaning even more effective and pleasurable.”

We're told to expect a price tag around the $700US mark for this “reference model” cleaner. Naturally, we'll update you with any new information when we get it, so stay tuned!
