De Santi Woodworking Factory Brought Under Sonus faber

Sonus faber has worked with the De Santi woodworking factory for 35 years, and now it has become the official woodworking department of the Italian high-end speaker maker.

Sonus faber has acquired the De Santi woodworking factory in San Martino di Lupari (PD), Italy, following a 35-year relationship.

Sonus faber De Santi

Sonus faber began working with Luciano De Santi and his factory in 1986, the two companies united by a shared passion for Italian heritage and craftsmanship. Since then, the companies have been partners and collaborators, creating loudspeakers known worldwide for their engineering, quality and performance.

To keep up with increased global demand, Sonus faber has already committed to expanding the woodworking department, employing new CNC machines and painting capabilities, plus extending the factory footprint.

Furthermore, this move closes the collaborative gap between the design, engineering and woodworking teams and therefore should enable more innovative designs and unique customisation opportunities, plus decreased production lead-time and so increased output.

Sonus faber CEO Jeff Poggi told StereoNET:

The quality construction of our wooden cabinet is a strong differentiator for Sonus faber and an integral part of our brand's identity and resulting natural sound. This acquisition is a natural progression of our 35 years of collaboration, and I look forward to the amazing innovations that we will develop together as one family of artisans.

Sonus faber De Santi

De Santi Srl owner Stefano De Santi added,

I've always loved the Sonus faber product philosophy; we grew together over the last 35 years. The De Santi team and I are very happy to become part of the Sonus faber family, finally able to dedicate our work exclusively in building these pieces of acoustic art.

The acquisition of De Santi is effective immediately; Stefano De Santi becomes Sonus faber's Head of Woodworking, overseeing the department, including the current De Santi staff, who will remain in their current roles. Additionally, new team members will be joining to expand capacity in the coming months.
