DALI Epikore 11 High End Munich 2023 Launch
DALI Epikore 11 celebrates 40 years of Danish loudspeaker innovation at High End Munich 2023.
DALI's Epikore 11 is touted as the natural evolution of DALI's Epicon series whilst benefitting from the flagship Kore loudspeakers launched at the Munich show last year.
The Epikore 11 is a 4½-way floorstander featuring a curved, real-wood veneered cabinet that houses four 8-inch bass drivers, a highly dynamic 6½-inch midrange — each utilising DALI's Soft Magnetic Compound Gen-2 (SMC Gen-2) magnet material — as well as DALI's signature EVO-K Hybrid Tweeter Module.
DALI's SMC Gen-2 is the next generation of company's patented SMC magnet material technology, designed to significantly reduce hysteresis. Introduced in their flagship DALI Kore loudspeaker, SMC Gen-2 is also now found in the Epikore 11's bass and midrange drivers, as well as in the crossover inductor cores.
As expected, the Epikore 11 also features the instantly identifiable paper and wood fibre cones chosen for their mix of low-weight and high-stiffness properties, helping promote non-resonant break-up characteristics. In addition, the newly developed 6½-inch Epikore midrange driver benefits from the same complex embossed geometric structure of the paper and wood fibre diaphragm as the Kore.
The impressive EVO-K Hybrid Tweeter array, initially developed for the Kore, is also employed in the Epikore 11. This combines a large, in-house developed 35 mm soft dome tweeter and an improved version of DALI's ultra-thin, high-performance ribbon tweeter element. Together with the powerful neodymium magnet motor systems, they promise to deliver an astonishingly smooth and effortless high-frequency reproduction at any volume.
Finally, the Epikore 11 features all-new bi-wire capable binding posts and die-cast baffles, the latter constructed from acoustically inert and extremely stiff materials that provide a solid and beautiful platform for the drivers while eliminating unwanted cabinet resonance.
DALI's Epikore 11 is available in High Gloss Black, High Gloss Maroon and High Gloss Walnut from August 2023, priced at £39,998/ €39,998 per pair.
