Cyrus One Cast Smart System

Cyrus has just announced its ONE Cast smart audio system.

We enjoyed our time with the ONE HD, and now Cyrus adds the Cast to the ONE family.

The ONE Cast has the apparent bragging rights to being the first product of its kind and is designed to work with all three principal voice assistants, Alexa, Google Assistant and Siri. The upshot being you can squirt music from an Apple Homepod, Amazon Echo or Google Home smart speaker to the ONE Cast just by telling it to do so.

Cyrus ONE Cast

Under the hood is a 100W per channel Class D stereo amplifier that you can stream high-quality music to from your phone using Spotify, Deezer, Amazon Music, iTunes, Qobuz, Tidal – in fact, pretty much any streaming service you fancy. Yup, you can even use Roon with the ONE Cast.

All The Voice Control

If you have voice assistant smart speakers on the same wifi network, you can use voice commands to send music directly to your ONE Cast or even set it as part of a group for multiroom audio. ONE Cast works with the leading voice control platforms from Google, Apple and Amazon

A wireless multiroom setup can be created using multiple ONE Casts or by integrating one (or ONE?) into an existing system that uses other smart speakers. All it takes is to assign the devices a name and location and then listen to your favourite music, radio and podcasts in any room or several at once.

Multiple Wireless and Digital Options

Using AirPlay2, the baked-in Chromecast or Bluetooth, the ONE Cast can connect wirelessly to almost any device.

Additionally, its wired connections include a USB input for Hi-Res audio files from a laptop or streaming device, as well as optical and coaxial digital inputs. The onboard ESS 32-bit DAC will handle up to 32 bit/192kHz digital files and DSD 128.

You can even upgrade your TVs sound using the HDMI-ARC input.

Analogue signals can be fed into the ONE Cast using inputs that can be configured in a fixed gain mode as well as from a turntable thanks to a built-in Moving Magnet phono stage.

Finally, the 85 x 220 x 390mm (H X W X D) ONE Cast also features a “class-leading” headphone amplifier for late-night listening.

The Cyrus ONE Cast is available now with an RRP of £1,249.
